To receive a session of Jin Shin Jyutsu is to feel relaxed and nurtured. It is an effective and powerful tool to promote the maintenance of good health and for addressing existing health concerns. Even one session may make a difference; repeated sessions take the harmony ever deeper.
Our bodies contain a number of energy pathways that feed life into our cells. When one or more of these pathways becomes blocked, through the stresses of everyday living, we experience discomfort, or even pain. A blockage will not only disrupt the local area but will eventually disturb the complete path of the energy flow, compromising our well-being. Jin Shin Jyutsu is the Art of releasing such energy blocks.
During a session you will lie comfortably, fully clothed, on a treatment couch. The practitioner will listen to the pulses at your wrists before gently placing their hands on specific areas of the body (known as Safety Energy Locks) to facilitate the flow of energy. No pressure or massage is involved.
Born of innate wisdom, Jin Shin Jyutsu was widely known thousands of years ago and was passed on by word of mouth, until the true concept of the Art was almost lost. It was revived in the early 1900’s by a Japanese man, Master Jiro Murai, who devoted his life to the research and development of Jin Shin Jyutsu after clearing himself of a life-threatening illness. It was brought to the west in the 1950’s by Mary Burmeister, who studied with Master Murai for many years.
Jin Shin Jyutsu does not replace orthodox medicine and you should always consult a medical practitioner if you have any health issues. However, it can be used to support you while you are undergoing any treatment.
